After an almost 5 year journey with Degenerative Myelopathy, my heart dog 🐾❤️ Sammie crossed the rainbow bridge right before the Covid lockdown in 2020. I found myself grieving and saw so many dog parents online, struggling with their dogs, especially those with neurologic conditions like Sam's. I wanted to help and needed to put my pain somewhere it could make a difference. Bringing together my personal experience and professional canine rehab knowledge, I founded Living with Dogs with Disabilities - a Facebook community dedicated to promoting mobility and canine rehab so pet parents and professionals could learn from others everything that CAN BE DONE to help these dogs. I believe that if pain is manageable and an animal isn't in immediate risk, that there is ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO, and doing nothing simply isn't an option. This is why I've invested so much into educating and connecting online. To facilitate interactions with experts in various fields of canine health, wellness, and rehab to dog parents wanting to do more for their pups. You're dog may or may not recover from an injury or disease, but that doesn't mean you are helpless and their life is over, In fact - "IT'S NOT OVER, IT'S JUST DIFFERENT" are powerful words to live by. Today I have my own practice in canine rehabilitation in Nova Scotia, Canada and impacted thousands of dog parents online with over 500k video views and 21k followers across social platforms My goal is for every dog parent that that gets a diagnosis for their dog, like DM, is then told of what they CAN DO and WHO CAN HELP THEM do it. 💞

Questions you may have...

  • Why is there a cost associated to a program like this?

    I'll be honest, it has taken a long time for me to put this together and be comfortable charging for it. I know caring for a dog with DM can be costly. This program has been a passion project for me taking my own personal and clinical experience, combining it with research and I've invested 100s of hours of time in creating something that is meaningful. And the reviews from our members reflect the program value. I've provided payment options to try and make it easier for you. And if you are really struggling, please reach out to me and we will figure out how to make this work.

  • I was told there is no cure for DM. What benefit is this program ?

    Great question! While there is no "cure" there has been several research studies and case studies that demonstrate there are means of slowing the disease progression. One of the main reasons for euthanasia is rear paralysis. Knowing how to help your dog stay stronger and walking. longer can extend longevity. In addition, there is the fear of the unknown. Addressing that fear and learning how you can care for a dog with paralysis can make a huge difference. We also cover identifying pain, the risks associated with later stages of DM, and how to know when it is time. Most of all you are in a supportive community in an organized learning environment.

  • What if I can't make all the scheduled livestreams and zoom calls?

    No worries! All livestreams and zoom calls will be recorded and shared in both the private Facebook group and on this program platform. In addition, you can post your questions for "Clinic Hours" and I will still schedule time to answer them. Then you can go back and watch my response.

  • I'm a vet or rehab professional. May I take this program?

  • What if I don't like the program or my dog passes away?

    The passing out or beloved dogs is an all to real reality. If you aren't completely satisfied with the program or your dog crosses the rainbow bridge and do now want to complete it, I will refund your registration fee or stop your subscription. You just need to let me know.

  • What happens after 3 months?

    You have unlimited access to the private Facebook group and resource library even after 3 months. You can also subscribe to a 6 month membership. After your membership you can continue with live coaching support month to month.

  • What currency are the prices in

    Thinkific only allows one currency. The currency I use is CAD.

  • My dog is already paralyzed because of DM. Can this program help us?

    Yes. The program is designed into modules b(i.e. nutrition, exercise, integrative practices, homeware, etc). Each module covers the various stages of the disease. In addition, you have the opportunity to connect with dog parents working through DM. And finally, my own dog was completely paralyzed in her rear and I've learnt a lot about caring for a dog through the disease stages.
