You want to do more at home to help your dog move and feel better BUT....

  • You aren't sure where to start and don't want to hurt them or

  • You've tried doing the things shown to you but your dog just doesn't like it, or

  • You're so overwhelmed you don't know where to start or....

  • Something along these lines. And I get it. I've worked with 1000s of pet parents in person and online that have the same fears and frustrations and you know what? So did I when Sammie, my beloved German Shepherd had degenerative myelopathy.

  • When you don't really know what your doing, your not sure if it's working or hurting them and how to proceed. Or you just aren't getting the results you expected and are frustrated.

Now imagine ...

Going through a simple sequence of massage, range of motion, and stretching with your dog and them relaxing and you notice improvements in their mood or even their mobility in just a few weeks...

  • Each week we will have a live workshop followed by a Q&A. You will have the opportunity to presubmit your questions and/or participate in the live Q&A.

  • These therapies are a regular components of physiotherapy and rehab and can make a really big difference in your dog's wellbeing and mobility. But it's easy to get discouraged if you are unsure or feeling overwhelmed and give up on them.

  • WHAT YOU DO AT HOME MATTERS.

FAQ

  • Is this ok for dogs with IVDD?

These techniques are therapeutic movements that are usually given to pet parents to do with their dogs when they have IVDD or underwent surgery. And they are taught by a trained canine rehab therapist. The may not be appropriate for dogs immediately post operative or for dogs that have uncontrolled pain. If this is your dog, check in with your vet or rehab therapist.

  • What if I can't attend all the live, online workshops?

It's likely most participants won't be able to attend all the live, online workshops but don't worry. There will be recordings for you to review, plus pdfs. In addition you will be sent a request to submit questions prior to each workshop that will be built into the lesson or answered in the post workshop Q&A. You can also submit video.

  • My dog doesn't like to be touched. Does it make sense for me to join?

Please make sure you dog doesn't have uncontrolled pain, they may need to see your vet. Otherwise, you may still find this helpful as you learn not just techniques but also behaviours and set up that can help improve the experience.

  • Is this safe?

The learning and techniques demonstrated are simple, gentle, and commonly used in rehab settings. Online learning does have it's limitations as Sarah can't physically be there to assist and therefore, as with any online program, there is some inherent risk. Sarah is a licensed physiotherapist and experienced canine rehab therapist and will do everything she can to mitigate as much risk as possible.

  • Will this make my dog walk again?

Massage, ROM, and stretching all help to promote healing, mitigate pain, and improve mobility. We however, can not guarantee any specific outcomes related to your dog.

  • I'm already doing rehab, will this help at all?

Great! We are glad you are doing rehab with your dog. This training will enhance that experience. Doing this at home, consistently makes a big difference in the rehab experience and outcomes.

  • What about cruciate injuries?

This live online series will help with all most hind end injuries and conditions.

  • Can I get my money back?

Under special circumstances a reimbursement may be issued. If you are unsatisfied with the workshop series, you may request a REIMBURSEMENT BEFORE THE 2nd WORKSHOP.

Canine Rehab Therapist, Founder of Living with Dogs with Disabilities, & Inspired Dog Parent Sarah MacKeigan

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO... HI! Thank you for being here 🙏. After an almost 5 year journey with Degenerative Myelopathy, my heart dog 🐾❤️ Sammie crossed the rainbow bridge right before the Covid lockdown in 2020. I found myself grieving and saw so many dog parents online, struggling with their dogs, especially those with neurologic conditions like Sam's. I wanted to help and needed to put my pain somewhere it could make a difference. Bringing together my personal experience and professional canine rehab knowledge, I founded Living with Dogs with Disabilities - a Facebook community dedicated to promoting mobility and canine rehab so pet parents and professionals could learn from others everything that CAN BE DONE to help these dogs. I believe that if pain is manageable and an animal isn't in immediate risk, that there is ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO, and doing nothing simply isn't an option. This is why I've invested so much into educating and connecting online. To facilitate interactions with experts in various fields of canine health, wellness, and rehab to dog parents wanting to do more for their pups. You're dog may or may not recover from an injury or disease, but that doesn't mean you are helpless and their life is over, In fact - "IT'S NOT OVER, IT'S JUST DIFFERENT" are powerful words to live by. Today I have my own practice in canine rehabilitation in Nova Scotia, Canada and impacted thousands of dog parents online with over 500k video views and 21k followers across social platforms My goal is for every dog parent that that gets a diagnosis for their dog, like DM, is then told of what they CAN DO and WHO CAN HELP THEM do it. 💞
